Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I send my inclusions?
    Please visit the “How to Send Your Inclusion” page for full instructions. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us by clicking here.

  • What is the turnaround time?
    Your keepsake will be completed within 5–12 weeks from the moment we receive your inclusions (breastmilk, umbilical cord, ashes, etc.).

  • What can be included in my keepsake?
    You may choose from a wide variety of inclusions. The most common are:

  - Breastmilk

  - Birthstones

  - Birth flowers

  - Umbilical cord

  - Pregnancy test caps

  - Hair

  - Ashes

  - Fur

  - Naturally fallen whiskers

  - Feathers

  - Fabric or clothing

  - Dried flowers or leaves

  - IVF needle caps

  - Sand

If your preferred inclusion is not listed, please contact us. You may also combine multiple inclusions in one piece (e.g., breastmilk with umbilical cord, ashes with fur).

  • Can I include more than one umbilical cord in a single stone?
    Yes. There is no additional charge for including more than one cord.

  • Do you return unused inclusions?
    Yes. All unused inclusions will be returned with your finished order. Preserved breastmilk is stored for up to 2 years.

  • Is it possible for an umbilical cord to be too old?
    No. As long as the cord is fully dried and free from mold, it can be used—regardless of age. In fact, older cords are often ideal because they are completely dehydrated.

  • Can one umbilical cord be used for multiple items?

        Absolutely yes!

  • How much breastmilk is required?
    We require 5–6 ml of breastmilk. If you have less, please contact us to confirm whether the amount is sufficient.

  • Can one breastmilk sample be used for multiple items?
    Yes. A 5–6 ml sample is typically enough for several pieces, depending on stone size.

  • What happens to leftover preserved breastmilk?
    Any remaining preserved milk is stored, sealed, and labelled for up to 2 years, allowing you to order additional keepsakes in the future.

  • Can I use frozen breastmilk?
    Absolutely. Even milk that has been frozen for years is suitable for keepsake jewellery, although it may no longer be safe for consumption.

  • Can I use colostrum?
    Yes. Colostrum can be used, although the resulting stone may appear slightly more yellow. This natural variation is part of the beauty and uniqueness of your keepsake.

  • Can mouldy breastmilk be used?
    Unfortunately, no. We cannot work with mouldy milk.

  • How is the breastmilk processed?
    Upon arrival, your milk is carefully treated to remove bacteria and preserved using specialised agents. It is then dried over several days until it forms crystals, which are crushed into a fine powder. This powder is used to create your unique milk stone. Each stone’s colour may vary based on your milk’s natural composition.

  • Can I wear my keepsake every day?
    Gold-plated and rose-gold–plated pieces are not recommended for daily wear due to the delicate nature of plating.
    White gold plating and 925 sterling silver are more durable, but proper care is still essential. Avoid water, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and prolonged sunlight to maintain the stone’s colour and clarity.

  • Can I change my ring size after ordering?
    It is your responsibility to provide the correct ring size. If you are unsure, please visit a jewellery shop or use a sizing app.
    Requests to change ring size must be made within 24 hours of placing your order. After this time, changes incur a 20% restocking fee because settings are custom-ordered immediately. Refunds or exchanges cannot be issued for incorrect sizes.

  • Can I cancel my order?
    You may cancel your order within 24 hours of purchase. After 24 hours, cancellations incur a 20% restocking fee.

  • Can I change the type of item I ordered (ring/necklace)?
    Item changes must be requested within 24 hours and submitted to info@forgetmenotjwls.com.
    Changes requested after 24 hours also incur a 20% restocking fee. If you would like to modify your stone design or inclusions, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

  • How should I care for my keepsake?

        - Your keepsake requires mindful care:

        - Avoid water (hand washing, showering, swimming).

        - Do not wear it while exercising, sunbathing, or sleeping.

        - Store it in the provided velvet pouch.

        - Avoid exposure to perfume, lotions, hairspray, chemicals, extreme heat, and direct sunlight.

        These precautions help maintain the clarity, colour, and durability of your stone.

  • Can I customise my keepsake?
    Yes. You may choose a natural finish or add pearl shimmer, opal flakes, or all three. Please include your selections in the order notes.

  • Do you offer returns or refunds?
    As each keepsake is personalised, we do not offer returns.
    If a birthstone or zirconia falls out within 2 weeks of purchase, we will repair or replace it.
    If you have concerns about your inclusion stone, please contact us—we are always happy to help.

  • Do EU customers have to pay customs fees?
    Yes. EU customers are responsible for any customs charges applied upon delivery.
